Technological advancements in digital phones gave rise to new technologies such as Integrated - Services - Digital - Network, commonly known as ISDN. It is used for telecommunication needs of businesses as it enables transporting data, voice, video and various other network services through common public telephone lines. The common variations of this technology used are ISDN2 and ISDN30.

ISDN2 allows the user to have up to 8 telephone lines for a given number; ISDN2 also enables to install a separate charge phone for the same number. It is ideal for small scale offices as it meets their communication needs along with being simple.

ISDN30 is for high end businesses that need more than 8 connections for the same number. In ISDN30 data and voice transfer is faster along with excellent clarity of voice. It is mainly used by Multi National Companies to have an active communication between various branches, located all over the planet. Since, this technology enables transportation of both data and voice in the same line, it was used for providing internet connections for a long time, widely referred to as "dial - up connection"; the maximum speed possible used to be 128 KBS per second.

Nortel: Nortel phones are used both as home phones and as land phones in offices. Nortel phones use VOIP protocol for connectivity and transportation.
Panasonic: Panasonic is a reputed name in the field of manufacturing digital, cordless and home phones. Panasonic products are mainly for residential purposes and so they are widely used by people at their homes.
Avaya: Avaya phones are state of the art products which are widely used in contact centers to manage huge volumes of calls. Avaya allows live call recording and monitoring which are essential for the call center or service industry as they can keep a tag on the quality of service delivered by their agents on each call.
